Award-winning children’s entertainer Will Stroet releases new DVD at Vancouver Children’s Festival
Fun musical videos inspire kids to eat better, be healthier and more active
(Vancouver, BC) – Is it challenging to get your kids to eat their veggies, brush their teeth or wear a bike helmet? Here’s something musical and fun that will convince your kids to do healthy things with enthusiasm. Award-winning children’s entertainer Will Stroet is excited to release “Will’s Jams,” an action-packed DVD of nine musical videos (one bonus in French), that will inspire your kids to eat better, be healthier, safer and more active – while still having fun. Stroet will be launching the new DVD at his two shows at this year’s Vancouver International Children’s Festival on May 30 and June 3.
“The Vancouver International Children’s Festival is proud to present Will Stroet this year – his music is entertaining, fun and makes you want to dance,” says Katharine Carol, artistic and executive director.
As a former elementary school music teacher, Will knows how to transform ordinary topics into an extraordinary musical experience. This rockin’ DVD produced by Turtlebox Productions is jam-packed with videos of Will’s favourite songs about sports, hygiene, vegetables, road safety, colours and animals from his Western Canadian Music Award (WCMA)-nominated albums “Walk ‘n’ Roll” and “My Backyard.”
The stop-motion animated video “Full of Beans,” with dancing paper-doll cut-outs and a catchy chorus, will teach your toddler about vegetables and counting. “Hygiene and Eugene” will get kids excited about their morning and a bedtime routine, while the “Bike Safety Boogie” teaches kids the rules of the road. And songs like “I’m Gonna Walk,” “Hockey’s Just Really Cool” and “Kick It” will motivate kids to play sports or be active outdoors.
Will’s music has received national recognition and garnered him three nominations from the WCMAs, and nominations from the Canadian Folk Music Awards and Canadian Independent Music Awards. “Walk ‘n’ Roll” has also received a 2011 West Coast Songwriters Award, Approval from the Parents’ Choice Awards, a 2011 Kids Music Award and a 2011 Creative Child Preferred Choice Award. He has also been a two-time semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition (for “Hygiene and Eugene” and “Oh my my, Hippopotami”).
“Will’s Jams” DVDs are available for pre-order at willmusic.ca for a special price of $14.99 each (reg. $17.99) and include a free digital download of the soundtrack.
