I am so excited that the band and I get to perform at the Vancouver International Children’s Festival this year. This is the festival I grew up going to. My mom would take me and my cousins every year to see some shows, get our faces painted and do all the different activities. I also have fond memories of going to the festival on school field trips, taking a school bus down to Vanier Park with my friends and teachers. Being in French immersion the festival was always a great place to catch a show in French.
The festival, as of a few years ago, is now on Granville Island. Though they no longer take over Vanier Park for the week I think that Granville Island is an even better venue for the festival. My family and I go to Granville Island all the time and as a venue for the festival they have access to beautiful performance spaces, great playground facilities and lots of good food and coffee options as well. The band and I get to do our shows at Performance Works which is one of my favourite rooms in Vancouver!
We are performing for the festival’s Pyjama night, as well as an English school show, a French school show and some weekend family shows as well. Tickets and Info.
