We’re excited to announce that the Vancouver release concerts for my new album, “Wordplay,” will be on Sunday, April 17 at the Jewish Community Centre at 11AM (SOLD OUT) with a second show added at 4:30PM. We will be performing many of the new songs for the first time ever and we will have some special guests joining the band!
“Wordplay” is the title and the theme of my new album. All of you know that my first passion is music and performance, however, you may not know that my second passion is language and more specifically wordplay. One of my favourite activities is solving the NY Times Crossword puzzle. When on tour, if I have downtime, you will often find me working on the latest puzzle. This album features songs such as: “My Pal Indrome” about a pal of mine who likes to speak in palindromes; “Grama An’s Anagrams” about a Grama named An who loves to anagram; “Boris Thesaurus Tyrannosaurus” about a T-Rex who has an amazing vocabulary; “Scott Spell” about a kid who loves spelling; and “Wordplay” where I have a lot of fun with puns, spoonerisms and even my first rap!
I want to thank everyone who backed our Kickstarter campaign to support the recording of this album. I had an amazing time working with my producer Steve Dawson in Nashville and recorded with some of the best session musicians in the city. To hear more about my time in Nashville, check out some photos and see the cover artwork, check out my Kickstarter updates. This definitely is my best album so far and I can’t wait to share it with all of you soon!
Over the next month, we’ll be independently producing some music videos featuring songs from the new album so be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel. We’ll also be screening them at the events so make sure to come 30 minutes prior to showtime to check them out!
You can pre-order “Wordplay” digital downloads and CDs from our store and receive the title track now. You’ll receive the rest of the album on April 17. You can also pre-order on iTunes.
